THE FESTIVAL

Welcome to the Offord Film Festival, a platform for new talent and seasoned filmmakers. We have looked close to home for material for the first festival and have discovered what a wealth of filmmaking talent we have on our doorstep – directors, producers, editors, costume makers and youngsters keen to have a go.

The Offord Film Association has been set up to run the festival, and we look forward to this becoming a regular event.

For competition entries we have the special Offord Film Festival trophies and medals to give away for all sections, plus an additional plaque for winners of the children's section donated by Endersby Awards, which is inscribed with the names of the new winners each year.  Winners are chosen by audience vote.

The festival should have something for everyone interested in film, and as we are all deprived of a cinema in St Neots our aim is to bring cinema to the local community. So come along and enjoy screeenings and talks in the cosy atmosphere of St Peter's church; a redundant church kept alive by its programme of artistic and cultural events.

We have tried to put together a programme to appeal to all age groups. To compliment the screenings there will be introductions or talks by experienced TV and filmmakers, film themed activities for children and competitions for those looking for an opportunity to air their short films.

So brighten up the winter months with a trip to St Peters; there'll be plenty of intervals for a chance to socialize and purchase food and hot drinks.

Finally, although we will provide heating, it doesn't go very far in a big old church building, so please wrap up warmly.
