A SELECTION OF FESTIVAL FILMS FOR THE OFFORD FILM FESTIVAL 2010

'Pigeon Impossible'

The tale of Walter, a rookie secret agent faced with a problem seldom covered in basic training: what to do when a curious pigeon gets trapped inside your multi-million dollar, government-issued nuclear briefcase.  A hilarious 6-minute romp through the streets of Washington D.C. As our hero fights to save himself, and the world from the chaos reigned down by a hungry pigeon.  Breathtaking visuals and a sweeping soundtrack.

Written and directed by Lucas Martell and a team of 100 writers and musicians.

THE PSYCHIATRIST

A surreal and very funny film about a gentleman and his toucan.  An homage to poet Roger McGough.

Directed by Emily Howells.

A FILM ABOUT POO  A fun, animated film for children with a catchy tune.  One they'll want to watch again.  Awarded 2nd place in 'The Golden Poo Awards' run jointly by the London International Animated Film Festival and Poop Creative.    Directed by Emily Howells and Ann Wilkins

HOPSCOTCH

Two sisters wait for a lift that doesn't show up.  Filmed around the Offords, we follow their journey as they work out how to get home, and manage some sisterly bonding along the way.

Starring Phoebe Llewellyn and Amber Zaldua.

Directed by Tobias Zaldua

STARS FALLING

A documentary short about the journey of Nik Fogarty, a local music teacher, who has written a fabulous musical and is determined to get it put on in the West End.  We hear about the challenges and pitfalls faced being new boy on the block in the closed circle of the West End and his success so far getting it onto the Key Theatre in Peterborough  (in June 2010).

Directed by Tobias Zaldua

BEAUTIFUL SENTENCE

A documentary about a high security female prison and how the inmates are able to express their emotions through poetry workshops.  Due to the nature of this documentary it features strong language and some recounting of past experiences which may be disturbing.  Directed by Suzanne Cohen

TRIGGER

Two school boys trespass onto land patrolled by a menacing and vindictive gamekeeper.  Will they survive to tell the tale?  A beautifully shot film, showcasing the talents of two fresh, young actors.

Directed by Marcus Shepherd

GIN MUMMY  A fun, spooky horror short using special effects to get you running from the building.  Directed by A Mysterious Maker.  Are you an Offord resident - can you guess who directed this on the night?
